A New Beginning
I met the Lord at a church camp when I was eight or nine years old. After that initial experience I ran from the Lord until October of 1994 when, after becoming burnt out from a career that was empty for almost 25 years, I relocated close to my son to start life over. I did not know that the Lord had everything already planned out for me.
It was at that time that I attended a conference in McComb, MS sponsored by the local churches in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brandon, Mississippi, and Lafayette, Louisiana. This conference gave me a view of Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:32) that I never had or could have conceived of before. It was there that I had a new beginning, learning how to use my spirit to fellowship with God (John 4:24), call upon the name of the Lord, (Romans 10: 12,13) and experience Him day by day in my daily life.
It is through these practices introduced through the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee based on their study of both the Bible and the writings of other Christians throughout history that I am now able to enjoy the Christ that is so real to me.
